As soon as I decided on the topic for today’s show, the Monty Python skit from their movie “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” showed up in my head. I was going to include a clip but decided that those non-MP fans might be a bit put off by it so I’ll just linky linky here.

I’m asking you to bring out your dead – the stuff you need to release from 2011 so that you can move into 2012 without all that dreary baggage. Based on a workshop by Robert Ohotto called “Endings: A conscious inventory and release of last year”, I talk about how important it is to release what no longer serves you but doing so in a conscious and intentional way. Listen in and find out more about it.

Also, get the scoop on my giveaway of Robert’s program and a follow-up 30 minute session to process it – all it takes is a Facebook LIKE on the Practically Intuitive page and a comment on this post. (An $85 value free to one PI listener!)

It ends December 25th at midnight (eastern) and I’ll announce the winner on the next podcast.

Gentle reminder: it’s the last week to snag some discounted sessions with yours truly – the sale ends December 24th at midnight (eastern time). Don’t miss out on some savings!

Hi and welcome to the “It’s almost Christmas” podcast! This is Lisa from PracticallyIntuitive.com – thanks for listening in!

Here at Practically Intuitive world headquarters, we talk about all manner of interesting things related to spiritual growth, healing and ways to use your intuition to improve your life. Now and again we chat about other topics like oh, what your Guides might have to say and why you’d do well to listen, messages from our loved ones on the other side and even ways to shift some big energy to align you with your path and purpose.

This is the last week to take advantage of some nice discounts on sessions for you or someone special in your life. Check out the front page of PracticallyIntuitive.com for all the info. The 30 and 60 minute sessions can be used for anything – an intuitive reading, talking with your guides, even mediumship so don’t be shy! This is your chance to see how powerful this work truly can be.

And speaking of powerful, let’s dive right on in to this week’s topic.

Death.

Specifically, what in your life do you need to release so that you can quit dragging it into the energy of the new year?

Robert Ohotto, who you can find at Ohotto.com, has a truly life-changing three part workshop called “Endings: A Conscious Inventory and Release of Last Year” and that’s what really spurred this podcast.

In this recorded workshop, Robert talks about how so many of us have a fear of endings, of death, of releasing what no longer serves us even though it’s a natural cycle of life.

Death really is the letting go of one form so that it can “trans-form” into something else. Too often, though, we just push it away, hang out in the land ‘o denial, or eat our way out of the sadness instead of just letting it go. Whether it’s a friendship that’s run its course, a job that just doesn’t bring joy any longer or something else entirely, acknowledging that it isn’t a fit for where we are right now is scary for lots of us. Myself included. It stirs up feelings and emotions that we’re often not ready to face.

His program provides context around why releasing things is so important in helping you get to your next place and how, when done with consciousness and intention, creates space for new and even more authentic experiences to show up.

As I was thinking about what needs to be released in my own life, I realized that the nice, peaceful day job I had for three years has somehow morphed into my own personal hell this year. It’s stressful, filled with every thing I dislike doing and I’m constantly exhausted from trying to keep up. It’s never going to be what it once was. That makes me sad. I used to enjoy being there.

When I look at what needs to be released from 2011, as I will do following Robert’s rituals, on that list will be my once peaceful office space. It’s not ever going to go back to that and what’s more, I want to move into doing my own intuitive work full time in 2012 so it’s in my best interest to release my strong desire to have those days back again.

So, what does conscious release and death look like? According to Ohotto, it involves a bit of ritual because when done authentically and in connection with your heart, rituals energize any shift in a big, big way.

He walks you through it step by step and there’s even a meditation that takes you through some scenarios that help you figure out what to release.

If I sound like a walking commercial for this set of MP3s, it’s because I believe in the power of what he’s saying and when this process is done all the way through, with intention, heart and consciousness, is unequivocally life-changing.

It really is.

And to put my money where my mouth is, I’m gifting one fabulous Practically Intuitive reader or listener with this program and a free 30 minute follow-up consultation to review the results of that work! That’s an $85 value free for one lucky person!

All you need to do to enter the contest is to LIKE my Facebook page AND leave a comment on the blog post for this podcast. That’s it! (If you’re already a Facebook fan, just leave a comment and you’re money, baby!)

Next week, I’ll be announcing a two-session package good for January only.

In these sessions, we’ll work with what you want to let go so you can step into 2012 without dragging your dead around with you! All the help and support you need to do that is right on the other end of the telephone line!

I invite you to check out Robert Ohotto’s workshop priced within anyone’s reach at $25.

I listen to a lot of classes and workshops so trust me when I tell you this one is amazing! But YOU have to do the work – he can only provide the process.

Remember – action in the physical is what makes things happen. Let’s bring out our dead together and start 2012 off nice and clean and shiny with room for wonderful things to happen!

Thank you for listening, it’s truly my pleasure to share this with you. My cats thank you too because they’ve pretty much heard it all and are happy I have an audience now!

I wish each of you blessings beyond measure during this holiday season. This is Lisa from Practically Intuitive. Have a lovely, spirit filled week! Bye for now.

13 Responses to Podcast #24: Bring out yer dead!! How to let go of everything from the past year

  1. Cathy Gilbert says:

Wow … do I know this is for me! I am really struggling with letting a lot of junk go, especially events that have made me angry and even more stubborn than "normal," whatever that is! I look forward to more on this subject!

  2. Wonderful podcast! Yet again!! One thing that I do to help me with things that bug my (like day to day job when I'm itching to branch out on my own) is to start focusing on the positive things I love about work. It was tough at first, because there was so much that bugged the crap out of me, but now it rolls away so easily. I still recognize things that could be labeled as "annoying" or "frustrating" but it feels like watching a reality TV so it doesn't impact me as much. I would LOVE to leave behind are the relationships that have gone away, because I'm now on a different path. It's so hard to let go, but it's time. I'd also like to leave behind any animosity I feel towards people who have said mean things to me over the year – remembering that it's about them and not me. Merry Christmas!!!

  3. Micky says:

Love that Monty Python bit. I do have some dead stuff to release, and maybe some not-dead-yet stuff. Think I'll hit the latter over its noggin and hurry the process along!

  4. Kara says:

Awesome post! Just what I need to do, and needed to hear today, especially about the job. And I love the title. :) I'm going to be ordering Robert's course too…

  5. mariner2mother says:

What a timely discussion! My father is close to death (but can't let go because he believes he needs to stick around and take care of my mother). I spent this fall releasing unhealthy foods from my diet (with the help of some major energy work that detatched most of my emotional attachment to food). And along the way, as I have been changing, my relationship to one of my closest friends has changed a lot. I am seeing her and the world through different eyes, and there is a lot about our friendship that doesn't serve me any longer- and we don't connect nearly as much as we used to (which is very ok with me).
Along with releasing certain foods and friendships, last week I weeded out bags upon bags of old toys and games and clothes from my son's closet. I'd wanted to do that for literally the past few years. Over the past few days, I had to move a bookcase and a shelving unit and took that as an opportunity to do a HUGE book purge.
In preparation for having a new heating system put in, we pulled several plastic tubs of old clothing out of an attic crawl space. I briefly looked at what was in them, and there will be a clothing purge next!
So, lots of energy shifting going on here. I hadn't even realized how much until I wrote this. Thanks Lisa for bringing this to my attention. Guess the affirmation I've had on my laptop wallpaper since this summer is really working- "It is safe for me to release that which I no longer need." Oh yeah, and I almost forgot- I dropped 25 lbs. this fall.

  6. Anni says:

I did the meditation from Ohotto's program tonight…and holy cow, was it powerful. I will be the first person to say that I hate meditating because telling my mind to quiet down only gets it going even more, so it always felt like a hopeless battle.

But this meditation is not your normal meditation. This was really a guided time travel / soul travel. Ohotto guides you to lift your soul out of your body to go somewhere up high and very safe, get guidance and bring it back. It's done in a storybook, movie-like type of way, with scenes, dialogue and visuals. I experienced a whole ton of emotions that surfaced, and got powerful visuals and guidance to bring back with me. I'm not easily impressed by meditation products, but this one just stands head & shoulders above the rest, because of the whole concept of this program, and also the way it was produced. Ohotto needs to win a Grammy for this or something. It was THAT good.

The audio lecture/workshop portion of his program is solid and filled with truth and resonance. If you like Lisa's podcasts, you will like this program because Ohotto's delivery is also very honest, very open, animated and he makes you realize a lot of things.

Thank you Lisa, for bringing this to our attention, and giving us all the tools and encouragement we need to heal and grow. I am so happy to have this!

  7. Heather says:

    Hi Lisa,

Great timing for this particular podcast/post. I am so ready to move into 2012 and release all things that do not serve me!! I am seriously ready. I've begun the work and continue to let go everyday. Thank you for this post and for the opportunity to win the giveaway, it would be awesome to win!

By the way, I like the new profile pic of you!
Happy holidays and blessings to you,
    Heather

  8. Sarah Edmonds says:

I really like Robert Ohotto's work but have not heard this particular one you are discussing. I'm also happy to find out about you and join your email list.

  9. Melissa says:

No Facebook addiction, but plenty to release besides that. Been clearing things up for a month or two. Plenty left to clear. The video sounds interesting.

  10. AJ Mcclary says:

    I love workshops

  11. Hi Lisa,

    Catchy title :)

I've been meaning to look into Robert's work since I first saw you mention it a while back. I think this is a fantastic idea and always very timely to "clear out the old" as the calendar comes to a close. There's something about Christmastime that seems to make so many melancholy about their lost loved ones. Thank goodness I have the little guys to bring cheer to the holidays. I am really hoping that 2012 is a whole lot better than 2011 (or 2010 or, umm, errr…a few years before that, too! lol…let's ring in some cheer already!)

  12. Tim Drown says:

Thanks Lisa. This podcast was particularly meaningful. I was able to clarify my intentions for my future and connect with the obstacles I’ve been hanging on to and seek some release. Appreciate the motivation and the insight.

  13. Katherine says:

Thanks, Lisa. I enjoyed your podcast and I hope that I'm the lucky winner! I'd like to clear out some old energies before the new year arrives.

    Blessings,
    Katherine
